So I have finally settled in at m new unit. I went from B Co 302d to B Co 202d, ironic huh? But that is beside the point. THe barracks here are the stuff of urban legend.

Just yesterday, the MP's "raided" the barracks after a false 911 call, and in the process of the raid (room to room search for a land line), some "wise-@$$" decided to light a full trash can on fire to distract the MP's from the illegal weapons in his room. (3 Bowie Knives, 1 9mm Hand Gun, and 200 rounds)

As the fire set off yet another siren, the MP's raced to find a working fire extinguisher to put out the fire, the fire department arrived as the 1 working out of 15 fire extinguishers was found.

Our acting First Sergent found the guilty party, and then procceded to force the soldier to spend the night in an igloo that had been constructed earlier that day for fun. Unfortunatly, I was not present to view the "smoking" of the soldier, but everyone was forced to be in a formation for his AR 15 reading. SPC to PVT.

Now we have recieved notice that we will be spending 3 days in a matienence bay while civilian contracters remove the asbestos products in the barracks. i.e. tile, ceiling tiles, and insulation.

The fact that I have to share a 8' x 8' room with someone pales in comparison to the total ignorance of the Army. Wish me luck, because I will be 1 among the many petitioning the Post Commander next week.

That's...uh...that's pretty crappy! Though it's not the first time I've heard of (or personally experienced) something like this, it still sucks to hear about it from others. Keep us posted on what (if anything) happens man...

As of right now, we are having random walkthroughs by our Sgt Maj. Wisper can probably agree that female NCO's tend to notice many more little things when it comes to cleaning. The nights of the O-Dark Thirty wake up and GI the Barracks are getting old fast.
