'Well, how about checking your gear, get things ready'

Pulls out Com and starts playing a game again.

"Get all my stuff in da car already. Jus say da word and I be good to go."

The team finishes up preparations for the upcoming run and you all head back out to the main bar area and begin to make your way toward the exit to move to your vehicles.

As you move through the bar, you hear one of the (more than a little) drunk patrons begin to start cursing at what is apparently his (losing) Urban Brawl team on the trid. Upon seeing the three of you exit the back room, his attention is instantly drawn to Shaka, who seems to suddenly be the root cause for his team's poor performance...

The man begins to aggressively swagger towards you, clutching his near empty bottle of soy-brew possessively. His intentions seem to be pretty clearly non-friendly...

TD turns to Shaka and Mister Wolf and says, 'Go ahead, I'll deal with him.'

He then quickly walks over to the Man and says, 'Can I buy you a drink mate?'

The sports fan quickly shifts his focus from Shaka to TD when he is addressed. His eyes briefly become unfocused, almost as if he's attempting to concentrate on some great truth and it's taxing him greatly to do so, and then the look of a crazed (and more than a little drunk) sports fanatic quickly returns to his eyes and he begins yelling to the rest of the bar...

"Loook at you... I pusshe them aboudt and he offerss me a drink!"

"Now if only we had more like you out there, notsh getting so worked up, maybe get them a little... a little pished, maybe we wouldn't ever have losed... lost... in the firsht place...

"Not thach Iyyy've ever lost anything, not me..."

The man then whirls on TD and swings his beer bottle with all his might at him and demands that the pinkskin get him that drink now!!

Rolling Agility+Clubs to attack, I get 3 hits for the drunk. Ordinarily it would be a surprise attack and granting no defense, but since he's quite drunk I'll allow for a defense test (parry [Reaction+Weapon Skill], block [Reaction+Unarmed Combat], or dodge [Reaction+Dodge]).

'Bloody hell!'

Reacting quickly, TD attempts to dodge the attack (2 hits).

'Listen mate. I was willing to just buy you a drink and settle this like gentlemen. But if you gonna attack me maybe you should have a look at my little friends on my hip.'

OOC; Wow, 7 dice, 2 hits. Sad for me.

Your 2 hits on the Dodge test are subtracted from the drunk's 3 hits, for a net hit total of 1. This is added to the basic damage for the improvised weapon (in this case 1P) for a total Damage Value (DV) of 2P. This would normally be Physical damage (hence the P), but since your armor's Impact rating exceeds the total DV of the attack, it becomes Stun (S) damage of 2S. Next, you need to roll a Body+Impact Armor test (modified by +1 due to the bottle's lack of penetration ability) to determine your damage soak...each net hit will reduce the total damage by 1S, so 2 hits will negate all damage.

Edit:

Your 3 hits on the Soak test completely negate all damage dealt from the drunk's ineffectual bottle attack.

The drunk patron's overly aggressive and alcohol fueled glare of rage is replaced briefly by a look of confusion, but swiftly gives way to a wide-eyed stare of incredulity and quite possibly...just a hint of fear.

His eyes dart back and forth between the shards of broken glass now scattered upon TD's shoulder and the weapons on his hip...then it would seem that a thought dawns for him and he begins to back away, slowly at first but quickly gaining speed as the amount of danger that he's in begins to cut it's way through the alcoholic fog.

The rest of the bar lets out a figurative collective sigh of relief and business as normal resumes. Such is the beginning of the first day in your new lives as Shadowrunners...

'C'mon TD, let's get going, I'm wanting payment for this run and I don't want bar fights ruining that'

Brushing glass from his shoulder TD turns around, 'Yeah mate. Lets go.'

Sh4k4 watches the scene with amusement before smirking and moving his hand away from the knife in his pocket.

Muttering to himself

The team easily makes contact with the Coyote, Stalker, and he agrees to meet you at Sloan Lake Park, about a 15 minute drive from Denim.

One item of note, however, is that he tells you to make sure to only bring one vehicle since "the tunnels are very easy to get lost in..."

"Wat chu guys tink, travel light or plan fo da worst'

'Light, we're not going in to shoot things up, I would suggest we take my vehicle, it's more secure'

'Ok, sounds good.'

After thinking for a minute TD asks, 'You got room for a bike in that van?'

'Possibly, we'll have to see'

'Ok. Lets go get to it. I'd feel better if we had it as well. It's just down the road a bit. Well take your van to it.'
